howdy yall! this email is coming at you a little late cause today has been crazy busy. I figured id write a short lil email about how this last week has been. last week we had transfers and I got a new missionary straight from the MTC! his name is Elder Bassett and hes an absolute stud. hes from Preston Idaho and hes a big fan of golfing and Jeeps. this last week has been super challenging trying to figure out how to train a new missionary but also its been a lot of fun. this week we were trying to come up with a new idea for finding. we were driving past the baseball fields when Elder Basset had the great idea to go talk to people there. we ended up talking to a ton of people, none of them were intrested, but it was a nice change of pace.  well thats it for this week, go watch kung fu panda 4 for me  Elder Pixton  -sunset  -magic with the hommies -pool table  -selfie

tuesday for breakfast I made a smoothie... i worked out, studied then we went to the food bank. the food bank was insane as per usuall. Elder bassett was absolutely gobsmacked. for lunch i used my chef abilites and cooked up some chicken. it was actually un-un-gas (supprisingly) I found some balsamic vinegar in the cubord so i put some of that on it. after that we did some door knocking. it was raining all day today and Elder Bassett absolutely hated door knocking. he was like dude theres a no tresspassing sign we cant go in there. and then we did and it was fine lol. yeah the first door knocking experience is always the worst. after that we had sandwiches at sis newmans and she got to know Elder Bassett. it actually really helped him to talk to her so that was good. hes been pretty homesick, but he seemed to be doing better after that. then we went home and played magic wensday it was Elder Bassetts first district council today!!! there was actually a lof of things that people said

Elder Pixton trainer letter

THE CHURCH OF JESUS CHRIST OF LATTER-DAY SAINTS FLORIDA JACKSONVILLE MISSION 8663 Baypine Road, Suite 102 Jacksonville, Florida 32256-7530 February 27, 2024 Elder William Turrell Pixton 7184 Notah Court Eagle Mountain, UT 84005 Dear Elder Pixton, I am grateful for your willingness to accept this new and most important assignment to train a new missionary in the Florida Jacksonville Mission. There is perhaps no more important assignment in our mission than the training of a new missionary. So, as you approach this new assignment, remember that who the Lord calls, He qualifies. In other words, so long as you are willing and have a desire to fulfill this assignment, the Lord will bless you with the ability and capacity to fulfill this assignment, despite any concerns or apprehensions you may currently have about how well qualified you are to accept this new assignment. In working with your new missionary, emphasize the importance of being Christ-centered and Spirit- directed in all that y

hey hey howdy yall this transfer has zoomed by at warp speed heres what ive been up to these last two weeks... im running out of creative names for these emails sooo im just gonna start numbering them zone confrence so this actually happened three weeks ago but I forgot to write about it so I figured id put it in this one. zone confrence this transfer was mainly focused on member participating lessons. our zone ended up setting a goal to have a total of 62 lessons with members by the end of the week. on average we get about 20 so it was a pretty lofty goal. we all prayed about it though and we felt that it was what the Lord wanted. Elder Larkin and I set a goal to have 6 lessons with members and we had no idea how to do it haha. we dont have very many lessons so we figured wed have to bring a member to every lesson. we had a lot of our lessons fall through but by the end of the week we reached our goal exactly. as a zone we ended up with 60 member participating lessons it was super

tuesday so today was a ton of finding. we went out in the boonies and knocked an abundance of doors and an abundance of those got slammed in our faces. like it was actually so funny this one dude threatened to sick his dogs on us if we didnt get off his property. he was like you better run to the gate or your gonna get bit... but they're werent even any dogs outside. so yeah we had absoluyytley zero success from that but it was a super nice day today so it was nice to go on a 2 hour walk pretty much. after that we had a zoom lesson with stephanie where we talked about a bunch of deep doctrine. after that we decided that there was still one more person left for us to find so we went finding again. it was the last door we knocked on and we ran into this super nice old lady named Jo-ann. shes had throat cancer twice so is super hard to understand her. like gift of tounges definitely came into play to try and interpret what she was saying. she told us her whole story and it was super i

Really long, really great talk about missionaries-from Mom

Hey, I found this really great talk about missionaries. It is really long, but so good. Definitely something to contemplate. I don't know yet if you are being transferred or not, but I know someday you will. I know you will need to make decisions about what kind of missionary you want to be with your next companion, in your next area, for the rest of your mission. I think this talk was really great at talking about different types of missionaries and turning your heart and mind over to God so He can make you into the man He wants you to be. Here are a few of my favorite quotes from this talk. I hope you really study it and pray about it and how it can help you in the rest of your mission, but most importantly how God can help you become the man you want to be and He wants you to be for the rest of your life and through eternity. Love you so much! Mom Quotes: You can't be happy if you don't want to do the things that lead to happiness, even if you do those very thin

7uesday anyways, today I woke up feeling pretty crappy so I just stayed in bed for a bit. then I took a super steamy shower to un-clog my nose and I felt a lot better after that. the food bank was hectic as always, but one of the food bank people started asking us about missionary stuff so that was cool. we probably wont start teaching him or anything like that, but he definitely respects us and what we do. thats the thing about the south. a lot of people love that were going out talking about Christ so they're super friendly to us, but most of them have their own church and dont want to be taught. after the food bank we had lunch and went to mayo for a lesson with stephanie. sister Royse came in clutch and bore her testimony when we face timed her so thats another member participating lesson babyyyy. lessgoooo. after that we just did some finding and, well thats about it. I didnt eat much for dinner because I had not appetite from being sick. also... we finished the puzzle tonight
