October 2 2023 to Mom and Dad

 Tuesday 

 Today we actualy got to talk to a lot of people. Usually people dont even answer their doors but for some reason they did today 🤷‍♂️ we ended up finding 2 new people because of it so that was awesome. We shared the scripture Alma 7:11-12 a lot today and that seemed to work well. We talked about how a lot of other religions dont interpret it this way but Jesus went through everything weve gone through and ever went through. So he knows exactly what we're going through. Its not like when one of your friends trys to sympathize with you and is like i know exactly what you're going through. Jesus actualy does. 

Wensday
District council today was awesome one of the elders shared a really sad story but we all felt the spirit. After that we drove back to make a few contacts...


Holy cow we just met with this one sister who has been through a lot. Tommorow we're planning on bringing one of our member friends whos also struggled with addiction to talk with her so hopefully that goes well. Also were gonna go on a tradeoff with the high springs elders so im goin up there for a day or two. Im so excited


After that we went to go load all the extra supplies from hurricane cleanup into the semi. Then we hurried and got some epic mexican food before we turned into pumkins.


Thursday
All our lessons today canceld on us so we just went around telling people to watch general confrence. We got to go to this place called bbq bills for lunch tho but it was very sub par. After that i traded companions, made dinner, worked on a puzzle, and attemted to jump rope.


Friday
I just met the chicken lady we did some service for this one lady and she just started talking to her chickens. She was making chicken noises and telling us about how she could understand what they were saying. It was so wacky, then she gave us this drink that looked like mud water or something. It was so gross, as soon as she turned her head we dumped it out.


After that Elder Johnston almost drove us into the river then we picked up a ginormous limb that fell on someones car. Elder Johnston was starting to cut it up with some puners then i just picked up the whole branch and moved it. After that we went to this one hoarders house where this old lady had trouble reaching some stuff in her house that was behind a bunch of stuff. Elder Johnston started to move stuff out of the way to get to it and instead i just climbed over everthing and grabbed it. I think the motto for today is work smarter not harder


Then we drove to Newberry to trade back into our normal companionships. Luckily we had a dinner appointment today with Miss Angie, her daughter, and her daughters husband. Miss Angie made real german pankakes for us. I thought they were good when grandma made them, but when a german lady makes german pankakes... it just hits diffrent. Throughout dinner they asked us about why we would choose to come out on a mission and all that stuff. So we answered them and invited them to watch general conference. After dinner we played a card game that was way too symilar to that one card game we played with grandma pixton a bunch. I lost.


Saturday
For some reason Elder Clukey and I have been popping off this week. We found 10 new people we're shooting for 15 though so we squeezed in some finding before general confrence. We ran into this one dude who said that we're satanic because we believe in the book of mormon. He was like i watched this documentary on pbs that proved it. I was like the book of mormon literally testifys of Jesus Christ how is that satanic we just decided to leave because he wouldent really listen, but we found 3 more new people after that so that was epic. Elder Clukey and I memorized john 14:27 the other day, so we were sharing that on peoples doorstep.

A cool old talk from when you were 1 -From Mom

  Hey William, The YW went to the provo temple to do baptisms today.  It surprised me a bit when we drove up, all the memories that came back from the day we dropped you off at the MTC.  It was also really fun to see all the missionaries there and think of all the people whose lives they will be blessing as they go out into the world to serve.    It's crazy to think that temple will probably not look the same for you again.  They are closing it soon to tear it down and rebuild it.  Kind of sad that it will be a totally different design.  But I guess that is just the way they decided to do it.  The fall leaves were so pretty at the temple today.  It was awesome.   Dad took Cohen to the BYU game tonight.  It's super cold and I hope they are staying warm.  It's a late game, so Cohen gets to stay up super late, probably till almost 1 by the time they get home.   We did some more yard stuff today. ...

  Bread and butter    Tue, Jul 25 2023 Hey y'all welcome back to the weekly email! This week has definitely been a party, it's been awesome getting to meet my district and having all kinds of new experiences with them. (Sorry bout the long email) Here's the rundown On Wednesday my fam took me to p.f. changs and then dropped me off at the mtc. It was really sad but also exciting to start my first day at the mtc.  On Thursday we had the opportunity to go to the temple and do baptisms. After that my companion and I were able to do this thing called helping others. It's where you are able to teach a lesson to an actor who pretends like they don't know anything about our church. We didn't have much time to prepare for it because we had a meeting right before where they called me as district leader. Since we didn't prepare we had no idea what scripture to share during the lesson so we just shared a random one. Let's just say that lesson didn't go very well...
