Curbs - beware! (Dad) September 10 2023
Hey William! Hope things are going well. I'm excited to hear from you tomorrow and hear about how the work is going. Finding might eventually start feeling a little routine but each opportunity can be an eternal alternating opportunity for them (and for us). Hopefully, as you keep going that it becomes special, even if 90%+ end without a follow up.
Sounds like you are doing lots of service. I'm interested to hear the direction that you're getting and how much work there is to do. Hopefully you have finding/teaching opportunities while you are serving, but I know that can be very difficult. Hopefully your service can turn into going to not-yet members and serving them.
Well, Eden got her learner's permit. I haven't taken her out as much as I took you driving, so she is a little behind. We've gone out a few times. She has in her mind that she will be driving to Phoenix in mid-October when we go, but I don't think she has gone over 25mph yet.
Football game was fun, but BYU isn't looking great. They haven't been able to do as much as running the ball yet, so I think it might be a long year. Hopefully they figure it out. Passing the ball seemed good and defense is much better than last year. Anyways, the crowds have been big and there are some great teams on the schedule.
I like your PMG thought. For CMIS members, only the ward can move those dots. You can make a list and sit with them and help them move it. We keep a list of suggestions from missionaries that we review as a team and add stories to do the work. I've got some ideas of changes to possibly do both dots on the map; or perhaps submit recommendations to the clerk (like the baptismal form). The challenge with the multiple dots that the UI guys have is that they feel like they are running out of colors. The recommendations to the clerk takes a long time to get approval because it is working with the Priesthood department.
Anyways, I hope all is well. I pray for you all the time. You seem to be rocking it, but I'm sure you have had struggles from time to time and know that I love you. I want what I think is best for you. The Gospel of Jesus Christ has greatly blessed my life. It helps me to keep my desires in line. Heaven knows that if it was left up to me that I would be a lot more selfish/prideful/etc than what I already am.
Love you lots and tons,
Dad
