Cleaning up Idalia's mess (Dad) Sept 3 2023

Sounds like you had a very eventful week. Probably seems like forever ago that you were evacuated; at least it seems like it was a long time ago. I'm excited to hear about how the recovery is going along for you and the city. I know you were doing lots of service before, but I bet it is at a whole new level. Hopefully you are still able to teach and work alongside people in the community and not just other missionaries. Anyways, probably no shortage or work. I looked at your air tags on Friday and it showed you right by the coast, I assume you were doing clean up over there.

Well, our mess isn't so big as yours. We finished off the retaining wall on the hill, well at least as much as I'm wanting to do this summer. I still have quite a few bricks. Sure I may have some when you get back; if not, I know where to get them. i'll put a picture in a separate email, just easier for me to do it that way.

Logan and I went to a BYU game last night. It was fun. BYU won, but they didn't look great on offense. defense won the game. Super sad to see Utah beat Florida. Utah looked really good against them :(

Anyways, Arica came over right before we left for church and gave us some cucumbers. It was good to see her and catch up for a bit. She filled us in on school and her new job. Sounds like she is doing well. I'm sure I couldn't tell you anything that you didn't already know.

Anyways,  glad that you are safe. Hope that you find ways to share the gospel even if you are doing lots of service. Look for any opportunity you can to testify of Jesus Christ and his goodness. Sometimes it takes quite a few casts of the fishing rod before you catch a fish. I thought about that when we went camping a few weeks ago. We did our best to fish, I just thought about how most of the time you cast your line out in the water and most of the fish just ignore it. But, sometimes the Lord will guide you (or guide) people to you. I think that we need to show that we will extend that invitation or talk about Him so He trusts us with our Heavenly Father's children. Keep going, so proud of you.
Love always,
Dad
