Elder Pixton trainer letter

THE CHURCH OF JESUS CHRIST OF LATTER-DAY SAINTS FLORIDA JACKSONVILLE MISSION 8663 Baypine Road, Suite 102 Jacksonville, Florida 32256-7530 February 27, 2024 Elder William Turrell Pixton 7184 Notah Court Eagle Mountain, UT 84005 Dear Elder Pixton, I am grateful for your willingness to accept this new and most important assignment to train a new missionary in the Florida Jacksonville Mission. There is perhaps no more important assignment in our mission than the training of a new missionary. So, as you approach this new assignment, remember that who the Lord calls, He qualifies. In other words, so long as you are willing and have a desire to fulfill this assignment, the Lord will bless you with the ability and capacity to fulfill this assignment, despite any concerns or apprehensions you may currently have about how well qualified you are to accept this new assignment. In working with your new missionary, emphasize the importance of being Christ-centered and Spirit- directed in all that y...

hey hey howdy yall this transfer has zoomed by at warp speed heres what ive been up to these last two weeks... im running out of creative names for these emails sooo im just gonna start numbering them zone confrence so this actually happened three weeks ago but I forgot to write about it so I figured id put it in this one. zone confrence this transfer was mainly focused on member participating lessons. our zone ended up setting a goal to have a total of 62 lessons with members by the end of the week. on average we get about 20 so it was a pretty lofty goal. we all prayed about it though and we felt that it was what the Lord wanted. Elder Larkin and I set a goal to have 6 lessons with members and we had no idea how to do it haha. we dont have very many lessons so we figured wed have to bring a member to every lesson. we had a lot of our lessons fall through but by the end of the week we reached our goal exactly. as a zone we ended up with 60 member participating lessons it was super ...

tuesday so today was a ton of finding. we went out in the boonies and knocked an abundance of doors and an abundance of those got slammed in our faces. like it was actually so funny this one dude threatened to sick his dogs on us if we didnt get off his property. he was like you better run to the gate or your gonna get bit... but they're werent even any dogs outside. so yeah we had absoluyytley zero success from that but it was a super nice day today so it was nice to go on a 2 hour walk pretty much. after that we had a zoom lesson with stephanie where we talked about a bunch of deep doctrine. after that we decided that there was still one more person left for us to find so we went finding again. it was the last door we knocked on and we ran into this super nice old lady named Jo-ann. shes had throat cancer twice so is super hard to understand her. like gift of tounges definitely came into play to try and interpret what she was saying. she told us her whole story and it was super i...

Really long, really great talk about missionaries-from Mom

Hey, I found this really great talk about missionaries. It is really long, but so good. Definitely something to contemplate. I don't know yet if you are being transferred or not, but I know someday you will. I know you will need to make decisions about what kind of missionary you want to be with your next companion, in your next area, for the rest of your mission. I think this talk was really great at talking about different types of missionaries and turning your heart and mind over to God so He can make you into the man He wants you to be. Here are a few of my favorite quotes from this talk. I hope you really study it and pray about it and how it can help you in the rest of your mission, but most importantly how God can help you become the man you want to be and He wants you to be for the rest of your life and through eternity. Love you so much! Mom Quotes: You can't be happy if you don't want to do the things that lead to happiness, even if you do those very thin...

7uesday anyways, today I woke up feeling pretty crappy so I just stayed in bed for a bit. then I took a super steamy shower to un-clog my nose and I felt a lot better after that. the food bank was hectic as always, but one of the food bank people started asking us about missionary stuff so that was cool. we probably wont start teaching him or anything like that, but he definitely respects us and what we do. thats the thing about the south. a lot of people love that were going out talking about Christ so they're super friendly to us, but most of them have their own church and dont want to be taught. after the food bank we had lunch and went to mayo for a lesson with stephanie. sister Royse came in clutch and bore her testimony when we face timed her so thats another member participating lesson babyyyy. lessgoooo. after that we just did some finding and, well thats about it. I didnt eat much for dinner because I had not appetite from being sick. also... we finished the puzzle tonight...

Cool old talk from Elder Bednar

I sat down to write you an email today and then got interrupted and now it’s midnight, and I am just writing… We haven’t had a lot going on this week out of the ordinary, so there isn’t much new to tell you other than we had a baby shower for jordan and Melissa yesterday. It was fun to get to see everyone and celebrate these new babies that are coming soon. We have enjoyed our come follow me lessons this week that had to do with 2 Nephi 3-5. We talked about Lehi and his blessings, promises and reminders to his children before he died. We talked about agency. It’s been a good week of study. We were talking about agency today for FHE and dad brought up this talk. https://www.churchofjesuschrist.org/study/ensign/2007/09/seek-learning-by-faith?lang=eng It was a great one. I hope you love it too! Excited to talk to you tomorrow! Love you!! Love, Mom

tuesday for breakfast I had a smoothie, and during personal study we got a referral from soical media and it actually turned out super promising. it was from this dude named David. we called him and ended up scheduling a church tour later today. at the food bank today it was crazy once again. pretty much the food bank is always like VP on a friday night. well except its tuesday afternoon, and all your coworkers are super old and ask you to lift all the heavy things. that last part was good though. I need the workout and its hard to get gains without weights. I stole some bagels from the food bank then we were outta there at 2. for lunch we found some waffle mix so we cooked those up. sooo good after that we had the church tour, and we ran around mayo visiting people. for dinner sis Newman made us PBJs, and larkin and I reenacted the scene from zootopia where theyre in the dmv and theres all the sloths, so that was pretty funny. after we got home I played the piano(with my new metrinom...

hey yall its your (mabye) favorite missionary back at it again with another email its been a pretty good last 2 weeks, and the weather has been an amazing 70° and sunny weve been super busy with refferals from soical media and member participating lessons. last week we started focusing on getting members to our lessons, and weve seen some super cool miricles from it. a lot of the members are telling us about their friends that might be good for us to teach so thats been super helpfull on thursday we meet someone named Mel who is super elect. she moved into our area so the missionaries in her old area reffered her to us. she recently quit a lot of her addictions and shes been doing super well. on friday we brought one of our member friends Sister Newman, to meet her and they instantly clicked. we're planning on going back on Wensday so we'll see how it goes not too much to report this week, hope yall have a good week Elder Pixton -lizzard earring -flowers -weekly planning outsid...

Tag pics-from mom

Hey, so I saw a fun thing on the missionary moms fb page. Missionaries taking pictures of their name tags with things that have to do with their mission or places you go. You should take some of those for me. Here are some fun ones. I’d love to see what you come up with. Maybe do one with your headstand it the name tags in the foreground? Or next time you find a frog or lizard. Anyway. Hope you’re having a great week. Love you!!

tuesday todayyyy during personal study i listened to a podcast thingy while I sorted through our Tupperware cupboard. you see missionaries end up having a lot of tupperware because when members give us for we forget to give it back to them... so that was a fun project. after that we went and helped out at the food bank again. dude it was crazy. theres so much drama with foodbank people and the guy that was directing traffic got mad and just up and left. so I got to be the traffic director person all day after that we had lunch and then drove up to Mayo to visit some peeps. we actually got in contact with a lot of people who havent been talked to for forever so that was shweet. then we booked it home for dinner. wensday for breakfast today I tried to cook up some hashbrowns that I grated yesterday and put in the freezer. sadly I blundered and didnt bake them or wash them before I grated them so my hashbrowns were covered in dirt. they looked pretty nasty so I just had pb on some toas...
